    So the 20 countries that are members of the Council of Europe (including Russia) but not members of the EU are being undermined by a 'colonial hegemony'?

    You clearly still don't get that the ECHR has nothing to do with the Lisbon Treaty and quoting an ignormaus that doesn't get that simple fact either adds nothing but ill-informed bollox to your argument. One more time for the NAY-sayer ... Ireland's obligations to the ECHR have nothing to do with the Lisbon Treaty or our membershup of the EU. Geddit, yet???
