Hannan is an MEP so not on the front bench.
The Mahon Tribunal found Olivia Mitchell to have received an inappropriate payment from Frank Dunlop at the time of the 1992 Election. F.G. Gael has taken no action against her.

David Cameron's statement today (find it on bbc.co.uk) , 'a conservative governnment would amend the European Communities Act 1972 so that a referendum must be held before any more power is transferred to Brussels', is excellant.
An alternative Irish Government should pass similar legislation/constitutional amendments. It would put a marker down , and would clarify what a referendum is for.

I mean full-on Helvetic people power, as adumbrated in this best-selling publication. I have returned to the back benches in order to concentrate on building such a movement.
Does this europhobic clown even speak English?

It's a well written article, but I think the key point he's missing is this

have been campaigning since I was 18 years old for a referendum on Britain’s relationship with the EU - the referendum that David Cameron has now ruled out for the duration of the next Parliament. I can see his point of view: he doesn’t want to be distracted from the Herculean task of reducing the budget deficit.
That's not why. The Lisbon issue is now going to be passed and in law by the time Cameron gets into power. He can't do anything about it. And the idea of having some non-specific referendum on Europe is ridiculous. What's it going to say? You have to have a question to ask. In Ireland it was effectivly "Do you want to ratify the Lisbon treaty". Not "Do you want to to sign up to future European treaty's, even though none are tabled and even though we have no idea what those treatys will be about"

The idea of a UK Constitution is a good one, and something they should address. But I don't see it as something to be done simply to push one's European agenda. It needs to be a very well thought out process and something that will take a lot of time and cross party cooperation, and of course cooperation from the royal family.

On the issue of freezing him out....well gosh if you're Cameron you have to really don't you? Major started out with people saying how great it was he didn't crush opposition to Europe, and look what happened there. The last thing Cameron needs is the European divide in his party being a major issue in the runup to the election. On the plus side, if said divide does come up, it will be less of an issue for Cameron, as the party in general is on the same page in their euro-scepticism
