CONFIRMED: Klaus has signed the Lisbon Treaty

Getting confirmed reports from friends working in the European Parliament that Czech President Vaclav Klaus has signed the Lisbon Treaty.

BBC News now reporting that he's signed it.

Czech President Vaclav Klaus has signed the Lisbon Treaty.

The Czech Republic was the only EU country not to have ratified the treaty, which was drawn up to streamline decision-making in the EU.

Earlier, the Czech constitutional court rejected a complaint against the treaty, ruling that it was in line with that country's constitution.

"I signed the Lisbon Treaty today at 1500 [1400 GMT]," Mr Klaus told journalists.

Thank god for that. It was a long process, but it's finally over. Now the EU can spend all it's time focusing on the countless problems that it is needed to solve.
