Posters in residential areas - r they Illegal?

Passing by Whitestown today I noticed a large number of colourful YES posters strung up on the lamposts in this working class estate.

    Many of them read (IIRC)

    Minimum Wage
    €7.65 - The Law
    €1.84 -The Lie

Now its a free Country (yet) so the 'Yes for Europe' can pit their case all they like - till their money runs out.

But it can be no accident that they targeted and area of Blanch with one of the highest No votes in % terms in the 2008 Referendum.

Maybe I have this wrong bit my understanding was blanket coverage of residential areas with posters during Electrons and Referendums is illegal?

If so to whom does one report this?

They said '€7.65 - The Law'. Are you sure about that?

The minimum wage is €8.65 per hour:

Minimum rates of pay in Ireland-Information from CitizensInformation.ie

BTW, there's no law against putting posters up in residential areas.

Maybe it was - but my point is what are they doing putting up posters in residential areas

IMO they are out of bounds.

According to the law, they're not.

If they're putting up those kinds of posters in residential, working-class areas then they're being very clever.

I cheered this morning when I saw these posters. The yes side is finally getting their act together.

I think you will find many of the residents will not be amused at all at this potential Litter problem in their area!

Indeed the irony is the very people backing this group come from the Financial Class that will press for the minimum wage to be reduced

    - just as soon as the dust has settled on the Lisbon Referendum...

Indeed the Minimum wage will in all probability be would down over the next few years anyway...

"Residential" areas. By that I presume I mean lamp posts on public roads in residential areas. In that case there is no law against it at all.

What a pathetic effort at debate. What is your beef with - Illegal posters, litter or the Financial Class (whatever that is)? Are you of the view that the non financial class should not be allowed see No posters also or just Yes ones?

Mu beef is as I live in a residential area in Blanch that this tactic will soon result in blanket coverage of our estates at election times with posters if no one stands up and complains!

If one gets away with it soon they will all be at it!

If any appear outside my front door I will be cutting them down!
