O'Leary isn't used to being faced up to and he couldn't cope with it at all. Having to resort to cheap insults spoke volumes.

O'Leary had his ass handed to him, absolutley no concrete or relevant points to justify a Yes,only ideas that benefit a self-serving multi millionaire like himself,he obviously knows nothing about the treaty itself and seemed he was only trotted out to prop up the dwindling yes camp.petty insults and stupid irrelevant remarks, terrible

Ganley, obviously a very shrewed operator who knew what he was talking about, well read, articulate, full of FACT,and the most important point, where is the Taoiseach to debate this???
Why an arrogant businessman with major ego represented the Yes Vote

I think O'Learys performance and apperance tonight might have cost the state the Yes vote

    No all the way

Bollocks. She lost on the basis that she was arguing a red herring. She ignored the veto, and the unamainity which is crucial. If the public picked up on that, he won it.

RTE brings back bear-baiting, cock-fighting and full-contact jousting as prime-time television.
A debate (shouting match really) between two non-politicians, neither with a mandate, on a complex constitutional treaty-pure TV gold!
Full credit to RTE-it was fascinating to hear what they had to say.

I was expected some Pokémon battle but it was entertaining nonetheless.

And the results from today are... (please look away if you will be watching later on):

    Ganley 0 : Leary 1
    Cox 4 : McDonald 0
    Martin 2 : Higgins 1

O'Leary hasn't read the Treaty. And that's where Ganley got him. O'Leary was relying on other peoples interpretations of what the treaty says.

Which immediately begs the question - will these debates make any difference? Probably not.

The majority cannot therefore be the elite.

Its not a contest between Ganley and O Leary. O leary does not care about being liked. The fact that he comes across as more of a bollex than Ganley (a tough ask for anyone) is irrelevant. O leary is not is not standing for election, he doesn't need to be liked.

All that matters is the message people will take from this. The messages are : O leary - we got what we wanted with the Commissioner and Europe is keeping us afloat; Ganley -without the simple message of the Commissioner issue he has no issues people will remember.

Ask anyone tomorrow WHAT point Ganly made and they will not be able to tell you.
