I asked that question too.. Guess this one is for the masses who like a good fight. Detracts from the real issues the country is facing and it'll make good telly.

My money is on Ganley, he's not swayed by loudmouths.

It could go either way but promises to be the match of the Referendum. I cant wait.
The last Ganley can be called is meek and mild. He is, whether you agree with him or not, rather pompous and declarative without, a lot of the time, having much to back it up with. O'Leary is rude and will sneer, smear and berate Ganley no end. It will be GREAT television if the RTE idiot asking the questions is any good. O'Leary did not challenge Ganley to a debate without realising the consequences. They guy will have his homework done and expect the you know what to hit the fan.

The difference between the two will come across, imo, as:

    1. Both don't like EU over complication/elites/over regulation.

    but

    2. O'Leary has concrete, personal experience, examples of it but thinks the Union is good overall, whereas Ganley will just come as the Euro-phobe he is because he has absolutely nothing good to say about it other than broad banalities.

He is no Europhobe. It wasn't Ganley who called the EU an "evil empire". The real Europhobes are those who want to foist an unelected govt of 27 countries on our fellow Europeans, in spite of 2 other no votes other than Ireland.

Exactly ... Ganley should perhaps let MOL be himself and drag the conversation down to the gutter in no time at all ... bound to rub off unfavourably on MOL then

    That's also Ganley's position.

Rubbish. He would like you to think it is. A snake oil salesman. The more I see and hear of him the more I distrust him.

Why would the Irish Prime Minister (and I am no fan) lower himself to debate against a guy who failed to get elected to the EP from Ireland NW.
