After all is said and done I could care less who "Wins" the "debate".

If its the capitalist twat-flap it won't have much consequence and if its the bean-headed contrary arsebag it'll have less consequence.

At the end of it all its serious business that anyone believes Lisbon was ever a good idea. I can't comprehend how you could come to that conclusion unless you had some serious group-think issues. Unless your getting a bonus out of the merger I can't believe you'd think it was a good idea. But it looks like we'll get a yes vote this time round. Kicking democracy while its down is all it is really, and if we get a no vote they'll pass it in parliament in bits and pieces and get the same effects.

Long story short, whether you think Yes or you think No, your opinion doesn't matter you'll be listened to when you echo what they say.

Just don't go thinking just because things are going your way but not that of democracy that it's a good thing, the reality is you lose when democracy does, however victorious you feel in the short-term.

But I'll let you guys go back to playing top trumps. Sorry.

The poll result is very interesting - 54:46 to O'Leary as I'm looking at it. Given what I would perceive as a very no biased political site, in the real world will this translate or will the yes side get a much higher vote?

By biased above, I mean the contributors, not the site itself.

Eh, this is expectations... The higher the expectations for O'Leary, the less Ganley has to do. I imagine you're right. I think Ganley not responding to O'Leary was a masterstroke - he looks scared and people expect O'Leary to win.

    god knows.

oleary is already up to his trick with newstalk reporting that ryanair are accusing aer lingus of putting off a major downsizing of their staff to cover the governments arse ahead of the lisbon vote, which is a classic example of what i was on about.

on the surface mick thinks he's being smart by making AL look like manipulative bastards.

unfortunelty the idiot doenst realise that if hes right he's on the same side as the government this time too

so all the bollocksology about jobs and lisbon goes out the window.

this IS going to be fun but no one can put his foot in it like oleary.

Its going to be strange watching Oleary without Ryan Air plastered behind him everywhere.

Ganley will win because O`leary never talks about substance, he is only intreasted in Ryan Air and how to increase sales.`

̉leary cares nothing for Ireland, even the Ryan Air website still todate wont except Laser Cards despite excepting UK debit cards.

My prediction will be, Ganley will wipe the floor with O`leary, and then O`leary will result in cheap jibes and bark on about Ryan Air.

And im pretty sure RTE will do as much as they can to show Bias towards O`leary.

Either way its a welcome debate that is well overdue.

Ryanair support of the Lisbon treaty will go down in history as of the most obvious cases of corporate greed with nothing short of a clear hidden agenda. We the subscribers to a national TV licence are supporting it.

That's close enough to my interpretation too. I'm not suggesting it was a respectful or classy debate.

I reckon Yates had already worked out (i) a couple of Ganley's tricks (the interrupting the end of the interviewer's introduction to try and throw him/her before the first question) and (ii) that Ganley can actually get quite shrill when he has to force himself back into the discussion. Yates, who can do the politico corner-boy thing himself, probably decided Ganley was one Alpha Male who wasn't going to get to walk all over his early morning croissants!

Tonight Ganley will be up against another well-briefed, highly-coached Ueber-Alpha! O'Leary won't be finessed by the glib likes of Miriam O'Callaghan, nor sharp questions from Mark Little. Methinks the host will be caught in the middle of a crossfire. Indeed, the collateral damage might be the funnest thing about the whole event!!!!!

Ganley will win this duel. O'Leary will just be supporting his own enterprise and that'll come across to the viewers. O'Leary will be smug, self centred and arrogant while Ganley will be cool, clear and rational.
