EU to abolish trial by jury.

It seems inevitable that in the near future, the common law system of trial by jury, which does not exist in the vast majority of EU states, will be abolished in Ireland.

Such moves must de facto occur in the process of harmonization and integration post Lisbon

indeed expect a 3 year campaign by the irish times in favour of conceding the Justice and Policing opt-out. Expect them to tell us how juries get it wrong all the time etc. etc.

Lisbon is the genesis of the EU federalist state.
It will only work socially and legally under a common system of criminal law.

Virtually all EU states do not have trial by jury.

Its inevitable Irelands jury system will have to go

Indeed such a fascist court system already exists in the "special criminal court."

Yes its quite scary is it not.

The ECJ as envisaged by Lisbon will come to a decision that decisions of non jury courts[which is the majority practice on the continent] are qualitatively superior to those of jury courts.

When this happens jury courts will be found to be unsatisfactory from the purely legal point of view and will have to end
