Ireland will have one vote at the first stage of voting. Same as Germany and the UK and even Malta. Then a perfectly reasonable check comes in with the population count but only if the first stage shows at least 15 countries (with one vote each) in favour. Interesting fact is that if the 13 smallest countries decide they don't like a proposal they can kill it even though the 13 represent less than 10% of the EU's population. Think about that - less than 10% of the EU's population can stop a proposal for an EU law. Now that's some power grab by the powerful elites , is it not.
Darn right. A good example of how this is a good deal for Ireland and the other small countries in the EU.

We will never again be asked or consulted, as a nation, on any EU issue important to us and future generations.
The lisbon treaty wiil take away a right to vote, how democratic is that.

Well if that were the case that would be awful - but of course it's not, so it's not.

Utter lies. The Treaty is not self-amending as its critics sometimes claim. The Treaty makes it absolutely clear that any future changes must be ratified in accordance with the constitutional requirements of each Member State.
