    EU Charter Death penalty footnote

    No doubt this issue has already been thrashed out here but I'm new so be gentle.

    Is there any credability to the claim that the EU Charter footnotes on article 2 of the Charter correspond to the decisions of the mentioned article of the European Convention on Human Rights 1950 (ECHR 1950) and the supplementary protocol which states:

    a) Article 2 passage 2 ECHR 1950:
    Deprivation of life shall not be regarded as inflicted in contravention of this article when it results from the use of force which is no more than absolutely necessary:

    * (a) in defence of any person from unlawful violence;
    * (b) in order to effect a lawful arrest or to prevent escape of a person lawfully detained;
    * (c) in action lawfully taken for the purpose of quelling a riot or insurrection.

    There is an article here on this matter:

    In order words, the Charter imposes the death-penalty for rebellion against the EU. Underlines how Lisbon creates a totalitarian Euro-empire.

    LOL. Even Taoiseach knows there was a further protocol to the ECHR that abolished the death penalty in all circumstances.

    Absolutely.
    Its a necessary precondition of a Feudal Superstate that the ruling elite have power of life and death over their subjects.

    Vote No if you want to stop this

    Protocol 13. It's signed, sealed and delivered.

    The EU would have been justified in executing the leaders of the 1916 Rising, according to the Lisbon Treaty. This is my reading of the highlighted article C.

    Can someone on the 'Yes' side tell me I'm reading this wrong?

    Does this Protocol require ratification by all member states? Has this happened if yes?
