Willie O'Dea comments on "dogging" in Limerick

According to Vincent Browne, Willie O'Dea did not was not interested in appearing on his recent special about Limerick Regeneration.

Yet Willie O'Dea seems to have time to provide quotes to the Limerick Leader for a story about "dogging" in Limerick.

The newspaper story is about a website which allegedly details "dogging" locations in Limmerick.

Seems like a strange sense of priorities for a Limerick TD as the city goes down the tubes. But then again O'Dea was never going to let Vincent Browne hold him accountable for his political record. O'Dea favours cosy one-on-one interviews and generlly avoids panel discussions and serious interviews. Far easier to try get a few lines of cheap publicity in a non story in the local media.

    According to the Limerick Leader

""Local TD Willie O'Dea has described the website and its activities as appalling".

"This is absolutely illegal and I think the Gardai should look at this to see if there is the commission of a criminal offence- if so - if somebody is doing this, there should be somebody held responsible" he told the Limerick Leader.

"It is hugely distastful," he added"

Its not half as distastful Willie as the legacy of unemployement bequeathed on Limerick City by yourself & your cronies in the last FF government. What about somebody being held accountable for that?

Limerick has bigger things to be worried about than this "shocking" development.

This site has been operating for years, every so often some journalist gets lazy and writes a story around it. Same thing happened a couple of years ago when I was in UCC.
Don't blame me; I voted for Kodos.

Looks like Willie is feeling the political chill and has decided to play the arch-catholic card. Pulled on his little rubber churchman coat if you get my drift.

    He must be getting desperate.

Last refuge of the political scoundrel- just after flagwaving. The contrived outrage and a moral panic.

    Dogwhistle to the wingnut voter.
