Eddies personal leaning are towards Fianna Fail as far as I know.
The second part of your post shows a severe lack of knowledge about how politics actually works. If Fine Gael H.Q. find an excellent candidate from outside the party ranks that they think has a good chance of getting elected in Kildare South in 2012 then that candidate will be added to the ticket without any consultation what-so-ever with anyone locally, even Hayden!
Was O'Donnell asked about Gillis in 2007? I don't think so!!!

I was in Tesco's Sunday afternoon and Eddie was in buying the bread and mild so it must have been a short stay down in Killarney.
The idea that Hobbs will be parachuted into Kildare South is fanciful, it simply won't happen.
he used to live in athgarvan but that hosue was sold as far as I know...and he is too much of a opportunist to run for FF where his chances of success are dimisnished

Anyway, I would have thought that the last thing that Fine Gael needs right now is another celebrity candidate.
I still believe that either O'Donnell or Nolan will be added to ticket in mid 2011.
That is of course if the bould Mairead McGuinness doesn't stick her nose in.
