    Meat East - Slane Area

JKenny I agree with you. I have to applaud Sinead Burke for the work she has put into this area. I live in rural Ardcath and she has canvassed me three times personally. The first time was last November!. That is some going. But she is not only a hard worker but she speaks very well and has really good ideas. She is going to get my number 1 purely down to the fact that I feel she more than deserves a chance and she is the only person who has called to my door.

Is this one of those threads where the same user had 5 accounts and is talking to themselves?

Personally, I don't think Cllr Toibin is up to the job. He has really bad BO too.
A demagogue is someone who will preach doctrines he knows to be untrue to men he knows to be idiots.

Goosebump, While I am new to this site, and not a member of any political party or organisation, I find your post both really childish and disconcerting.

To state that Peader Toibin is not up to the job is just ridiculous. At at stage in our country where we are being led by a corrupt and inept government it takes both courage and strenght to stand up and be counted. I dont seem to see your name on any election posters. As for the BO comment, please grow up.

I met Peader at the Dunderry Fair recently and he certainly did not have said ailment but what he did do was speak very well and I am only disappointed that I cannot vote for him.

Lol Goosebump,, our resident political intellectual…. May be you should have mentioned it to him so he could have taken the necessary measures.

Maybe also some of the other councillors should also shed a bead or two of perspiration in their efforts to keep Meath from experiencing Ireland’s fastest increase in unemployment.

Which is worse? Talking to oneself or responding to a troll on the internetz?

I'm pretty sure its illegal to use a Nom De Plume on the ballot paper, and I don't imagine too many people would vote for a candidate called 'Goosebump'.

    Goosebump,

Given that Cllr Peadar Tóibín has a degree in Economics and Politics from UCD and a postgrad in Enterprise Development from the Michael Smurfit School of Business, has worked as a registered teacher in Enterprise for Queens University, has worked on contract for Scottish Enterprise, the Rural Development Council, InterTradeIreland, Border Innovation Gateway, Cavan County Enterprise Board, Monaghan County Enterprise Board, Louth County Enterprise Board, Meath County Enterprise Board, Laois County Enterprise Board, Tipperary North County Enterprise Bord, authored a detailed Navan development plan, led the Navan Housing Campaign, co led the Support Navan Hospital Campaign, has worked as a councillor for the last 18 months and runs his own business, can you identify how he is not up for the job?

All this information and more can be found on the Meath Sinn Fein Website

A reliable source has informed me that Joanne Finnigan was very popular even in Navan however on the night of voting , people were shipped in to vote against her. Could this be true?? Had there been someone else lined up looks like it and Bourke isnt even from the area shinners very bad for parashouting people in weve seen it all over the country. Yes politics is dirty and its not just the fianna failers at it. its quite obviously the shinners too. In my estimation she was too good for them. And am delighted to hear she is getting such a good reception in her home town of laytown. She obviously is very principled to continue with the fantastic work she started in East Meath.

AS for Toibin , he comes across in my opinion to be very arogant and a bit of a know it all. All those qualifications listed mean zilch!!

    Will Joe go quietly?

He has already shafted Peader, all about the party as long as Joe is the candidate, the habits of Gerry have been replicated in Meath very well by Joe. Debate is not tolerated and character assisination encouraged.

    Where would Joe go?

I heard from a reliable source that she said she would continue to work for/with the party no matter what the outcome of selection. Hardly principled.
