As people might have realised Michael Moloney, our continuity Fianna Fail councillor, has deledted all his old posts .It just goes to show you how little this man says can be trusted.

It also shows he can substantiate very little of what he preaches. He believes the people of the mountmellick electoral area would never even question him anyway. It shows what respect he has for them.

Also, most of these candidates were and mostly still are unknown!
You are on the ball again Effin Effer, When De Valera announced his intention of his new Party in 1926, his fellow party members in old Sinn Fein came on board and formed the back bone of FF.

In Mountmellick my grandfather proposed at the SF meeting that the Mountmellick organisation go with Dev's Party. Bridie Fitzpatrick's father asked that the motion be posponed until the next meeting and it was at this meeting that the Sinn Fein organisation in Mountmellick formed itself into Fianna Fail.

There is no connection with the knuckle draggers of today with Sinn Fein of the 1920s.

In Mountrath my great grandfather and his sons were also part and parcel of the Sinn Fein organisation that went with Dev. So any talk of Sinn Fein in the Borris-in-Ossary area having any links can be taken with a grain of salt just as the Courts took Ted Cunningham's story on the monies from the Northern Bank robbery coming from Sinn Feins contacts in Bulgaria wanting to buy a sand pit in Offaly and leaving the money in a black bag in a car park for collection.

    Away with the fairies!

Sinn fein will not gain a seat in B I O LEA. Would think 250 first preferences would be a big vote for them. Will increase their vote throughout their county but would expect Stanley to be their only councillor after the vote.

Its a very real possibility that they will rerurn just 1 councillor. But they will come close in Emo,Portlaoise and Mountmellck towns.

You know how the PR sytem works,if they can get ahead early they will be in with a shout.

B I O area I would say areound 400 first preferences.I think everyone is realistic about this area. But the future is bright.

Where would this shinner vote normally go at the locals in this area?

Anyone with access to the tallies from 2007 will see there is a nice first preference vote here for the republicans. Not enough for a seat of course.

    I think so!

The anger being experienced on the door step by Fianna Fail isn't exactly converting to love for Fine Gael. Labour don't have the party structure or candidates to take advantage and Sinn Fein still won't be able to make alot of ground in the transfer stakes.

Tallented Independent candidates will do well out of this years Local Elections in my opinion. They're the safe option for a protest vote in many people's eyes who have lost faith in politics full stop, not just Fianna Fail.

You've obviously never heard Brian Cowen speak on the topic so?

You can't just make up your own meaning's for words to suit yourself!

    A few examples:

    (1) - Republic = A state where government is "of the people, for the people and by the people". {Latin - Meaning representative of the people}

    (2) - Nationalist = A person who hold an unquestioning love of their country.

    (3) - Chauvanist = A person who holds extreme nationalist beliefs.

Your spot on EE. Michael moloney is born and bread Fianna Fail and is still a staunch supporter of that party.

Now this will be hammered home by myself in many ways in the coming months, but all his political opponents need to do this. But it depends where he runs.

Political opportunists like him will pick the easiest area. Either way the Moloney name wont do it for the mammys boy of Laois politics this time!

And that backround is nothing to be proud of.Corrupt politicians just looking out for themselves and their cronies at the expense of their communities.Ye are scum that have destroyed this country and I hope thats what Moloney heres that on the doorsteps.
