    Anymore on him?????

    I have an All-Ireland medal................

    ........for Community Games!!!

Is there any more info on this guy, or is he just another fresh face with no policies?

Sinn Fein seem to be applying a shotgun tactic (pardon the pun) in Counties Laois and Offaly at the moment. Shoot a load of young impressionable candidates into the field and see what happens.

The Shinners have got their own reason for this shotgun tactic (your pun is bang on Effin Effer). Every election they give out the same spiel that they are going to make the big break through. Never had a party had so much difficulty breaking into the system as these boys, (they need to go and see Ted Cunningham in Mountjoy and see has he any manuals on how to make a break in).

With The SF vote permanently stuck in the 7 to 11 percentage zone, the shinners are fielding candidates all over the place so that after another failure Adams can say that his "Ballot box in one hand and the armalite in the other hand Party" is making strides down South as their percentage vote is up.

I detect a hint of fear from Cllr. Moloney? Its obvious that the Shinner's have a far superior line up in comparison to all the other Right Wingers and Labour.

I predict that the Shinner's will make major gains, and either way the results of this election will boost them and build their party in areas they've never been before. I was checking up election results for Borris-In-Ossory and its the first time they've stood a candidate there since the 1960s! And its the first time they've contested all County Council areas since the 1920s.

Mark my words, they are the party to watch in terms of growth this election. Unfortunately, Mr. Moloney, the anti-Republican agenda that began since you let down Mountmellick Fianna Fail continues to cloud your vision on the growth of republicanism. There is no room for failed human beings as candidates in this election.

In Mountmellick, Bracken and Seamus McDonald are top class candidates and they have never jumped ship and always stayed true to strong republican roots. Michael, you better find somewhere else to stand on your Right wing, anti-Republican platform. Perhaps consider the Shankill.

I think you'll find that those 1920's candidates were old Sinn Fein which became Fianna Fail, men who actually fought for this country and the Republic. Not the knuckle dragger's of today who sully the Sinn Fein name.

Also, most of these candidates were and mostly still are unknown!

My greatest fear, to this day, is that they might get any sort of power. They did not have a moral between them, and they depths to which they were prepared to sink, were mind boggling. Their lack of historical knowledge was truly appalling. Their bigotry was stunning. Aidan is great. Why on earth didn't he run as an Independent?
Lottie alot of people in the Emo electoral area will think differently to you. This will be reflected in the high vote Mullins will get.Even if he is not elected and I hope he is, I think we all agree he will poll well.
So the anti republican element in society is not as big as it once was. This is partly due to the fact that SF attract people of the calibre of Aidan Mullins. And time moves on and the bad old days of conflict are hopefully gone for ever.( remember the recent trouble in the North was not supported by SF and will do nothing to achieve their goals )

Your lack of knowledge in relation to SF and how it has developed and what makes it tick now, is very clear. Its ignorance really, but that is cured through opening your mind and educating yourself. And I dont mean reading the sunday world every week although I would imagine that would be your paper of choice.

Your greatest fear is likely to come through in the coming years as SF grow from strenght to strenght. This growth will be slow but it will be built on solid ground. There will be no amazing breakthrough.20 or so years of hard work and dedication will see the shinners as a very influencial party in this state. One party government as you know is gone forever.

For now in Laois they will have to do their bit.I will take up MMs point here. He says they are running candidates just to bring their share of the vote up. This is partly correct and why not. There should be no electoral area in the country that SF should not contest and give the electorate the choice. If they reject them so be it but contest all the same.SF all over the country are attracting candidates that they would probably not have 10 years ago. That is a natural progression. It is evident in Laois.

They have more credibility in Laois than Michael Moloney and his Fianna Fail cronies. He may well be rejected by the electorate yet. So SF will at least double their vote in Laois from 2004. I predict they will go higher than this. So the message to all other political parties in Laois is that SF are here to stay. They are here to build and attract new people. They are here to become inbedded in every town and village in the county and every organisation that serves the public good. FF did this in the last century and that message is not lost on the shinners.
If this work is replicated in Offaly and by all accounts that has begun, SF will challenge stronly for a dail seat in 7 to 10 years time. This must be the ultimate objective as it will allow them to serve their communities at the highest level.

As a young person I welcome this and I welcome any new faces into politics in the county. I wish them look in the upcoming locals and hope whoever is returned to our councils will represent the people with honesty and integrity. These are traits Michael Moloney has never held and now is the time for the electorate of mountmellick and surrounding areas to show him they now want to be represented by something better. Any of the SF candidates in Laois are worth 10 of Moloney.

So lottie i respect your opinion, and you are entitled to this. But you in turn must respect the electorates opinion in Laois and if they turn out in large numbers to vote for SF candidates then you cannot dismiss these people as been bigots and morally bankrupt.

SF may only return one councillor in Laois. They may well return 4 ( 2 county 2 towns ).My money is on the latter.

But they are here to stay so get used to them. And to all shinners, keep up the good work, encouage as many people as possible to get involved in your campaigns and above all have confidence in yourselves as politics in this country is undergoing a shift not seen since the 20's. Stake your claim in the next 8 weeks!!

Get over it Michael the shinners only laugh at you just like every other political party in Laois laughs at you. You have become the butt of many political jokes.

They dont want to feed your madness in any way.

I wonder about that, they seemed to have unnerved certain Labour candidates this week as well from what I heard from former comrades in the Labour movement. So there's no shame in admitting that you fear the ballot box more than the armalite.

You have still not announced where you intend to stand with your right wing agenda. The Shinner's, for all their shortcomings, have atleast announced where they're going to be putting their mantra to the test.

For a partial Republic, which modern Fianna Fail knuckle draggers and dungaree wearers (Offaly strain of the current FF virus), who sully the Fianna Fail name today, have proved themselves to be incapable of running, rather allowing Capitalists to run roughshod over the people in all both parts of this island.

In fairness, and I'm not a fan of the narrow sectarian nature of Sinn Fein, Fianna Fail or any of the other hyper-nationalist parties, the Shinner's local candidates seem far from knuckle dragger's with no record (Stephen Lynch in Mountmellick and Mullins in Port). Stanley alone has a record which anyone in politics would envy, and if the others are anything similar then I would be watching my electorate very closely.
