I dont think I would describe myself as a blowin as I am living in Laois for the past six years and have been very active in community politics. Standing for SF in County Council Election, Mountmellick Electoral Ward. When will Michael Moloney make up his mind were he is running,? he is like a lost sheep

i have just come back from the anvil and the opinion is Stephen O' Leary will be elected on the first count as a independent councillor, followed by James Deegan for FG, Margaret Lawlor for Labour and then either Ray Cribbin FF or Francis Emeson Independent.

The only chance Michael Moloney has of getting elected is to run in Mountmellick, If he puts his name forward in Emo he will be eliminated on the first count.

You should drop into Paddy Powers and stake a wager on that line up, I'm sure they would have no difficuly give you generous odds 500 /1 at least, but keep the bet small!

I agree that mullins will give the major parties a run for their money. As far as pounding the streets and shoe leather the shinners are miles ahead of the other parties, expect to see them knocking at doors very soon. Mountmellick is high on their agenda two credable candidates running will focus on the new voters (Dubs) etc. Not to be underestimated

Michael Moloney I dont think there is room for you in EMO or Portlaoise so I rekon stick to M/M you have a better chance there.

FG are not having there selection convention for the EMO electoral area for another four weeks, Paul Mitchell is not going to declare for FG until then incase he does not get the nomination.

there was up to 50 sinn fein members at the protest i should know i was one of them. What other party would take to the streets to defend the vulnerable in our society?. None and that is what marks us out from the rest of the parties. Try and have political debate and not try and launch yourself as the funny man of this site

    Here lads and ladettes.
Stop talking about personalities and look at policies.
Can anyone tell me what marks Sinn Féin, Labour or the rest of them out from each other?
The shinners, like the PDs would walk on anyone and climb into bed with any party if they got the smell of a Government seat in the morning, just like the rest of them shaggers up there in Leinster House.
E.g remember the so-called Green Party, the party of the left.
And what about Stanley when he jumped into bed with Finie Gael?
So go on. Look at the policies and what marks one party out from another.
Forget about who will win what seat and talk about what policies will win out in this election.

Ultimately elections are as much about personalities as policies, when it boils down to it, and perhaps even more so - when it comes to local elections, it's definitely more about personalities and less about policies!
