Ok this could be true, dunne canvassed my house less bracken so i cant say.
Had Ron lalor yesterday. Marked the canvass card with a one beside his name, pushed it through the door and did this for every house in the area. Never knocked a door. I cant see this method of canvassing getting him too far. As for Bowe, he is going very well and will certainly be at the races rural vote or not.

Did you actually read my posting? Your inane response would indicate otherwise. What I actually said was that if a democratic vote had been properly conducted at the Emo selection convention, Deegan would have been wiped out. Fact. Further, in a blatant act of corrupt manipulation, the official nominee of the Port branch of FG was seen off in order to shore up the Deegan vote. This vibrant, lively, and very young branch had worked hard and had already secured 980 votes for Grace Halford. The imposed candidate, Winifred Cox, is unknown to us, as she is to the general populous of Port. She was never a member of FG. and the blatantly corrupt nature of her imposition in Port. broke the spirit of our branch. The 14 very new young members were particularly devastated. The older members had witnessed corruption before, but the newer ones had not, and were absolutely stunned. You say that the organisation would only run a candidate who was capable of being elected, well how do you explain this carry-on then?

atleast your getting a card pushed through the letter box bud they cant get passed my door quick enough. The only candidate to knock my door was Mary Sweeney, mind you, i dont know who got the bigger shock when i answered, me or her the woman wouldnt back down from nothing, she gave me a bit of a bollicking for draging her name into my dispute, i had to oppologise in person, i had to eat humble pie, im a broken man A no, in fairness, she was very nice about everything, shes doing well at the doors, spending plenty of time chatting, nice lady.

Deegan was elected before and will be elected again.
    Grace Halford is an unknown.
And I have been told the Port Branch never had 980 members.

If they werent members, you cant really count them as a vote. So dont start telling me because 980 people said they would vote for her, that means they would vote for her. Easiest way to get rid of someone is to tell them you will vote for them..

hopefully not, all the fine gael candidates, local and european, are all sound, all good people, but deegan is a milestone around there next, his record in stradbally alone says it all. last week in the leinster express, deegan was critical of the gardai having so many speed traps on the main roads going in and out of town, this week in the papers, the local neighbour hood watch, which includes members of the local fine gael party, are thanking the gardai for actually pledgeing to STEP UP THERE SPEED TRAPS FOR THE NEXT MONTH. deegan says stop, his own party says more please LOL

THIS WEEK LEINSTER EXPRESS, laois GAA PRO and Stradbally candidate Pascal McEvoy was critical of what has been achieved in stradbally over the past 4 years[10] HE SAYS; The lack of progress in community initiatives shows that stradbally needs a locally based cllr who puts the town first and knows the people. CLASSIC

4 months ago, my wife went to deegan, she meet him on the street, and she asked him what he was going to do about our situation, he said WHO ARE YOU?? she said, im joan byrne, the wife of the man who threatened to jump of the cinema, he said, WHAT CINEMA, WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN??? the whole county knew, but not deegan????

Ah, c'mon! I'd give Deegan a few points for aplomb* if nothing else. It's one of the best replies to a sticky question since half of Jack Lynch's cabinet ended up under arrest, about to be arrested, sacked or having resigned and a reporter asked him that evening to comment on the crisis, whereupon he asked. "What crisis?"

If you can see nothing else good about Deegan, at least you'll have to admit he's cool under fire. I'd have run away from her as hard as I could in case she accused me, again, of being a devotee of onanism.

    * Look it up. It's not a sweet fruit with a stone inside.
