The real big issue is the 300 acres in the Lloyd Farm

It was given to the poor of Kells. The Town Council seem to have taken ownership of it by way of a vesting procedure. Some of it was sold to a developer who resold plots of it for industrial development presumably at a profit.

The farm is rented out and used to fund the running of the town and thus has two principal effects

1 To reduce the rates bill

2 To reduce the grant from central government for the running of the town.

Apparently someone is also squatting on the land

and the Council are taking no action to evict.

Perhaps I should squat a few acres fro myself and build an eco friendly home

My understanding is that no buildings were build on the land acquired from the Council, and that all buildings were located on the developers own land.

The land acquired from the town Council was transferred on condition that it be developed at the builders expense as a public plaza and landscaped area, that a tree sculpture be provided, and that the land be vested on completion in the Town Council.

Hence the developer is only the nominal owner of this land.

On this basis Brian Reilly Sean Drew and Brian Curran acted properly, in the public interest, and secured an additional public amenity for the town at the expense of the developer.

    Well done all

what did they build on the public road?

and how many square meters of each kind of building structure do you contend were built on public property.?

what lease hold interests were involved?

Which office of the property registration authority are the transfer maps recorded in?

The new kells 125 million town center is pie in the sky

It looked like a badly screwed up plan in any event as it would have killed off any footfall in the older part of the town.

What now for the much trumpeted "Sports Campus"

Just more pie in the sky to fool gullible voters desperate for decent amenities for themselves and their kids.
