Ógra Shinn Féin Launch in Co. Wexford

On Saturday last (12 January), the newest Ógra Shinn Féin cumann met for the first time in the Daithí Forde Sinn Féin centre in Wexford town.

The meeting was attended by Sinn Féin Councillor John Dwyer, and Comhairle Ceantar Vice-Chair Mick a Vic O’ Leary. Following the meeting the new cumann took to the streets of Wexford, disseminating literature about Ógra Shinn Féin in an effort to attract further members. The meeting was a success with the leaflet drop attracting a lot of attention among people in the town.

If you remove the English army to-morrow and hoist the green flag over Dublin Castle, unless you set about the organisation of the Socialist Republic your efforts would be in vain.

Consider it rude, the support of economic sovereignty for which your German masters have no say.

No, the late Daithí Forde was a local Wexford Sinn Fein representative.

I think that the establishment of a new Ógra Shinn Féin cumann warrants notariety on this website.

Sorry Armchair Activist no place for drinking sessions in the midst of the NARC campaign.

@ jerryp Daithí Forde was a long time Republican activist in the Wexford area who died in tragic circumstances. Disingenuous comments of that nature are not appreciated, underhanded attacks on our party must be tolerated but unfounded comments such as this are insensitive primarily to the afflicted family.

This is a politics forum not a mud-slinging competition

Sorry, was mixing him up with a kid who, I think, blew himself up or something like that in London about late 80's or early 90's. Think he was from Wexford. Remember Peter Cassels, then ICTU gen.sec. addressing peace march in Dublin and describing that kid as being a victim of the violence as much as anybody else as he had been misled by armchair generals.

I think this is worthy of a thread.

I hope all goes well for the new Ógra Shinn Féin cumann in Wexford, and that it attracts a lot of members.

That was Ed O'Brien, I was in school with him. The SF cumann in Gorey is named after him.

    What's the NARC campaign btw?
