    Kildare North 2007 Support Maps

Hi, I don't have time to post all the stuff I have... but here's a taster, the highest candidate in each area...

As can be seen, FitzPatrick dominated the rural west of the constituency, Brady did best in Clane, Kilcock, Sallins and the rural parts of the Eastern end of Kildare North. Stagg dominated in Kill, Celbridge, Straffan and Maynooth, while Scully and Murphy were the top pollers in Naas and Leixlip respectively.

I am still shocked at the support Brady managed to soak up.

In my view Brady's vote was very a much a vote for FF/the Government, whereas Fitzpatrick's was much more personally based...

This demonstrates it.... she got 25% of the vote overall, but got at least 20% in practically every district bar Robertstown (where Michael FitzPatrick lives) and a rural area in the far north-west of the constituency

As can be seen, Durkan fared miserably enough in urban areas - less than 5 in Naas, 5 to 10 in Leixlip and Celbridge, only 10-15 in Maynooth, but was saved (from Scully) by his solid support in the rural west of the constituency... He also polled well in the Kilteel/Rathmore area, a traditionally strong Fine Gael area which can be regarded as the northern tip of the Fine Gael-inclined wicklow foothills referred to in the thread on South Kildare...

Michael doesn't live in Robertstown, he lives in Allenwood.
