Time for Labour to stand up to the Unions.

I am a proud Labour member, and a proud member of a Trade Union. I believe there is an important role for Unions in civic life. To protect rights etc. In particular, Unions did a lot of good in the past, from a time when workers rights were way down the list of priorities of employers. However, the current strike shows that Unions current sole focus is to simply get more and more money for members. not what they were founded for. I hope Gilmore will stand up to them...

Nothing 'right wing' about saying that this strike is wrong. i don't see how 'left wing' it is to threaten an industry and other jobs at a time when everyone is making sacrifices. Social Welfare is under threat and these guys are looking for an 11% 'increase'. i don't see that as very left wing or progressive!

Is there a typo error in the heading? switch "for" in place of "to"?

No, i'm not middle class. and in my experience, it is the middle class left who are most militant, and fall into the easy lazy left right debate. anyway, maybe talk to the thread and points i put across legitimately at the opening of the thread, rather than focus on what i eat for lunch and where i grew up!
