Where are the young faces of Labour.

In the recent past it has come apparent that F.G have made impressive inroads on important social issues that traditionally have been the stomping ground of the Labour. This been managed by and fronted by the new generation of F.G and managed very well.

Why are Labour hiding the younger generation of politican from the limelight. Are they not up for the job. It looks very weak.

Labour look old and tired. What do you think?[/b]

There are loads of constituencies where Labour as an organisation, effectvely do not exist.
    That is the problem.

they cant get any young faces because labour isnt about the workforce any more. its about the civil service. which most people arent in and as such dont give a toss about.

Labour have plenty of young people.

To my recollection there are 4 members of Labour Youth who sit on the National Executive Committee of the Party: Enda, Paul, Neil and Ross and there may well be more.

They will be fielding plenty of young candidates in the locals and they have a very strong youth group. I wouldn't write them off just yet.
We should be shaping an Ireland based on full respect for the human and civil rights of all our people, an Ireland of which Larkin and Connolly would be very proud.

I dissagree. The Civil Service is brimming with FF appointees and party members/hacks. Its considered a serious carreer enhancement.

Labour have a serious image deficit. They look and sound tired. I accept that organisationally the party is challenged. But not utilising the very few young politicans that they have is a major drawback. Maybe they are just not up to it. I accept that two young fellas from Cork get some average coverage nationally but pale into significance when compared to F.G. The Labour Senators are a complete wash out. Do they exist at all.

I agree with Leftfemme......F.F and F.G have a greater advantage over Labour in having better placed younger people that live in the real world, well prepared for political combat into the future.

It is romantic stupidity to say that Labour are well endowed with plenty of good young people. The ones that they have they keep out of the limelight and loked in the locker.
