    Not a friend of Cuba -- a friend of Castro. Well, a cheerleader, to be precise.

    I'm not sorry to see Brendan leave the Seanad. In person, I found him to be somewhat obnoxious and unwarrantably impolite to his political critics and opponents (although I'm speaking from the experience of having witnessed this sort of behaviour rather than being at the butt of it).

    Once I saw Brendan Ryan's newsletter with him with Castro, it was clear his day had come and gone. I am sure the oppressed people of Cuba would not be shedding any tears.
