Joe, Joe! I implied nothing in my post. I stated that labour backerbenchers would do as they are told, emphatically!

I also said that labour lobbying would not achieve anything as they were all powerless, the leadership ( of labour ) were in charge and leading in the direction they wanted to go. Which was not in the direction that those who voted for them wanted and indeed those who are members of the labour party either.

Don`t change what I have said to suit your agenda.

You Joe, and your kind will change nothing about the labour party, not the decisions of the " leadership " nor the direction taken, by the " leadership " The differences between fg/ff/sf/labour are so blurred now that anybody who looks to the left for direction overlook labour.

That is a shame and a scandel in it`s own right!
J ust for the record,2 days ago you posted "the septic tank thing is a result of FG backbenchers at work" clear enough? A day later you post "you and i know they (backbenchers) will do as they are told just like the FF/FG backbenchers".Now Tawdy you cannot have it both ways, either the FG backbenchers lobbied for changes to "the septic tank thing" as you call it or they did not and did what" they were told" as you suggest. They could not do both Tawdy. It is my belief they did bring bring about the change and that is what i am asking LAB backbenchers to do.I want the household charge scrapped or modified and i am hoping LAB backbenchers will lobby strongly for change to this nonsensical charge.

I suspect that the Labour backbenchers are picking their battles. Since their rural vote is smaller than their urban vote, they won't want to risk the cohesion of the govt (their primary concern) on such a rural issue like the septic tanks. I also suspect that the Labour backbenchers are are hoping to get a junior Ministerial post in a future reshuffle and they don't want to rock the boat over what is not going to be a constituency issue for most of them.

I would contend that this is their primary concern. If the govt falls, they face a general election and Labour won't get 37 seats again. The backbenchers (particularly ones in areas with two Labour seats already) would be facing political death. The Labour backbench TDs need the govt to last at least four years.

Any government that allows its citizens to die, go hungry, remain cold and homeless due to financial reasons while protecting their own vulgar salaries, pensions, and obscene expenses is evil. Any politician that has a God other than money; I hope you rot in whatever you consider to be Hell for destroying our lovely country, that goes to all in FF, FG, Lab, and Green + any of the others that fits the bill.

LP mudguards are voting for more tax cuts for the rich while screwing the lower paid.

"An exemption from income tax on 30 per cent of a salary between €75,000 and €500,000 will be provided to lure senior multinational executives to Ireland".

And being unemployed and emigrating are lifestyle choices. And everyone went mad during the 'boom'. Outrageous.

Is this written by Labour HQ? This was the delusion fed to the Green backbenchers (where are they now?)

Nothing wrong with the post, but is the PD logo some kind of post-modern irony I don't get?

I didn't think the LP had any back benchers, I thought they were all either ministers, junior ministers or super joinior ministers.
