In their greed for power, the "Democratic" Left Stickies may well have lost a lot of Old Labour voters (people who would be centre-Left rather than hard Left) and the floating vote that gave them so many votes. This is, perhaps, far more serious than what happened to the Green Party. The Green Party still has elements of a cult-like adherence amongst some of its followers and more importantly, it has a much younger demographic. The unseemly greed of yesterday's people - Gilmore, Burton, Rabbitte, Quinn, Howlin, DeRossa etc - effectively destroyed Labour for the younger demographic. Ironically, the only one in Labour who may actually provide some hope for the future is Childers.

As for Sherlock and his cack-handed SI, a lot of the people who may be affected will determine his political future and he had better hope that he has no Sinn Fein challenger in his constituency.
