This so called democratic, open and transparent bunch of xxxxx is preparing to make sure we will have no access or information with regards to their expenses in the future!

Don't be lazy it's on SIPO. While the chap can be lauded for not over-claiming is he actually any good? How has he performed with whatever funds he's getting from the exchequer?

Probably as good as them rest of them with the exception he is not costing us the same! After reading Drennans report today with regards to the amount of expenses being claimed, highest on the list is Lowry,2nd is healy rae, their claims for unvouched expenses is obscene and the rest of them, the sums of money is disgusting on top of their overpaid salaries! The left wing independents are also up there with them. When is this madness going to stop, yet they cut the poorest, the working poor and the special needs. This is not about needs, this is about pure greed because they can. O.M.G. These are the most disgusting greedy parasites ever. All of them

It's not praise of Labour. This is not Labour party policy. This is one guy making a stand. And fair play to him.

I got to know him briefly many years ago when we were young and idealistic. He was a principled individual then and it is great to see that some people never change. I hadn't realised he was now a TD.

It reminds me of the Birmingham Six campaigner, Chris Mullin, who later became a Westminster MP. Chris was one of most principled guys in Westminster when he was there (he stood down at the last election). During all the outrage a few years ago over corrupt MP's charging out ridiculous expenses for cleaning out moats and duck ponds in their country piles, and when claims in excess of £3K for brand new plasma TV's, Chris's only expense in respect of a TV, for his London flat, was for a TV licence for an old portable black and white TV that he brought down on the train from his house in Sunderland.

Some people will be perpetual cynics. If he never claimed as an obscure councillor when there were no kudos to be derived, then he is clearly acting out his principles.
