    The real reason for standing outside the church gates is to proselytise (I hate having to repeat myself). There's a motion in from the Kilbarrack branch to include desecration of the host in the list of church-gate activities. It will probably be defeated by the rural rump though.

    All that is needed to be known about this is to substitute Jew or Protestant or Muslim for Catholic.

    Labour's use of the Catholic Aunt Sally is similar to old Dixiecrats hollering 'nigga' at election time.

    You never know- shur when Ireland becomes fully multicultural we'll be able to have all these debates again with 'entitled' muslims, jews, hindu, jain etc etc.

    Won't that be the expensive fun for the taxpayer.

    Aodhan O'Riordain has modified/clarified his comments on vetting;

    He has also tweeted a message to some of his fellow Oireachtas members;

    @mmccarthyTD @JohnKellyLabour @SenJohnWhelan@Colm_Keaveney Explanation on 'vetting' story:aodhanoriordain.blogspot.com Please advise constituents
    At one point yesterday the motion was going to be withdrawn but was later put back in. There has been some to-ing and fro-ing between Labour HQ and several branches on it. The motions will go out next week and several branches will be proposing amendments to the Clontarf branch motion.

    Indeed, although Sen. John Kelly posted an obliques tweet today on receiving text messages from 'them' which caused him hassle - this over his commenting on O'Riordan's comments.

    Ha, the gob************************es in Clontarf now discover what a political harlot Ó Riordáin is, as he pisses all over the stooges he led by the nose and now discards as the expendible knob-ends they undoubtedly are. Ó Riordáin would sell his mother into slavery in order to advance his political career. He cares nothing about the issue; it's just a smokescreen to divert attention from Labour's complete abject abdication of their principles. It's Ó Riordáin's own Vatican embassy three card trick. Ó Riordáin and Gilmore are nothing but cynical slimeballs, a disgrace to politics, the last thing we need right now are this pair of scumbags...
