Are Govt. blaming troika for their own mad determination to pay ALL bondholders?

Are Govt. blaming troika for a decision they have made themselves, to pay bondholders even those not covered by troika agreement?

This is looking increasingly likely to anyone who watched VBs press conference questioning of the German ECB guy and Simon Coveney's performance on VB show last night.

just when you think nobody could make a madder decision than the Brians' Guarantee, it looks like Noonan has gone one better.

If proof comes out that the troika actually made no threats to make them take this course, and they are lying through their teeth, does it amount to economic treason ? Or treason plain and simple.

Neither - it's a reasonable enough position. 95% of the bonds are paid already, and any good that might have done can easily be blown away by not paying the last few.

Do you not know that Enda and the lads bought up all these bonds at a low yield and that's why they're insisting on paying them back now? And hence Enda wouldn't name the bond holders. They made a killing yesterday and fair play to them.

Fine Gael and Labour have been putting blame on everyone but themselves, they will still be at it in 5 years time.

Nope; they will be with their fellow Tweedles on the back benches.

Oh look everyone, here's a subject we don't have a load of threads on......
"Elite - a small superior group; esp one that has a power out of proportion to its size." (Oxford English Dictionary)

The majority cannot therefore be the elite.
