Rabbitte says Dublin 'can become a great European city'

Sorry Pat, Dublin is a great European city.

Are Labour now opposing de-centralisation? What do FG think about this?

Do Labour think it is healthy that more than 40% of the Irish people now live in Dublin? Would Labour like this to increase?

Dublin is a filthy hell hole, with crappy infarstructure and no decent landmarks, it's not a patch on Paris, London or Istanbul.
Our main shopping areas are the size and style of any ************************ty small UK city with a patchwork of UK chainstores and filthy US franchises.

Dublin is behind many other European cities in terms of traffic congestion and housing provision. It also sprawls like no other European city does, and it's infrastructure is not up to the European standard.

But these problems can be fixed.

Do Labour think it is healthy that more than 40% of the Irish people now live in Dublin? Would Labour like this to increase?
Not healthy at all. But that's because your party is in Power and is reluctant to implement proper decentralisation policies or develop a counterpole to Dublin.

But, aren't Labour now opposed to decentralisation?

What Fianna Fail is proposing is not decentralisation - proper decentralisation would mean that the regions get to decide their own development.

What's happening/proposed at the moment is simply sending civil servants around the country, but the decisions will still be made by some desk jockey in Dublin.

It doesn't matter if we are opposed to FFs decentralisation plan anyhow - your party is so crap at implementing it that won't work anyhow.
