    Kildare South 2016

Sean O Fearghail becomes 3rd candidate for GE16 fending off Kildare Mayor Fiona O'Loughlin last night. Presume this means they're going with a one candidate strategy.

Sean O Fearghail Selected To Contest General Election | Kfm Radio

    KS candidates so far:
    Patricia Ryan (SF)
    Jonathan Irwin (Renua)
    Sean O'Fearghail (FF)

One would expect Heydon to go again but to be accompanied by Fiona McLoughlin-Healy. Jack Wall is Labours only chance of holding the seat but will he realistically want to go again? As for independents, can we expect to see J Pender giving it a run under the Clare Daly alliance?

Do you think it's wise of FG to run a two candidate strategy in light of the fact that in 2002 and 2007 they did this they managed to elect no one.

There is a rumour do the rounds that McLoughlin-Healy is getting ready to run as an independent. Have you noticed that she still hasn't put the party name above her office in Newbridge ??

Has anyone heard about the FH group meeting in Kildare County Council's offices last week before the election of the new Mayor.

By all accounts it was a hum dinger with all sorts of accusations flying around.
Suffice it to say, one Fiona McLoughlin Healy is not now the favourite daughter of the party anymore, and from what I understand she stormed out of the meeting never to return.

I'd be more worried about Fiona O'loughlin if I were in FMH camp! After her attack on Kfm on FF that they won't support her for municipal mayor she seriously jeopardised FG getting the mayoralty of the county last Friday by her antics. The alliance between FF And FG on the council is not the cosiest by all accounts and what FMH done was to unite both parties (and others) in a dislike for her. The fallout for FMH is that FG supporters would sooner support Fiona O'loughlin than their own Fiona.

Given the group meetings are confidential, you are either a councillor who thinks they should break that confidence; a deliberate plant by someone who was there and thinks they can leak to damage Fiona; or you are making this up.

Sad that FMH is relying on a former FG councillor to come on here and defend her!

I hear that things are kicking off in the FG camp.
Rumor has it that one of the Newbridge candidates was out in Kilmeague last night being a naughty girl canvassing Mark Stafford's area.
That could make for an interesting encounter on Saturday morning in Punchestown.
Does anyone else know whats going on in FG??
