Garda access to documents

Can anybody tell me if a garda in one area (say Cork) can access documents (statements etc) from another area (say Donegal)? I presume that they would have to have access to this information.

If they do have access to it, is the information accessed logged by the Gardai? I presume you would have to log in to the system and this would record what Gardai are looking at what documents.

Can anybody help me with this?

I believe its all accessible through the Pulse system, and every lookup is recorded and traceable to the Garda who logged in.

Sent a txt to a friend of mine in the know as I am out of the country.

Yes documents can be accessed through the pulse system.

The Garda logging in is recorded. Did a google and saw a case where a Garda in Killarney, Co. Kerry arrested a drunken driver. A dispute arose over whether the Garda left the prisoner on his own to access the pulse system.

The Garda swore he did not and did not have a reason to do so, the Inspector went along with the Garda the judge smelled a rat and ordered the Inspector to produce pulse records. At the next sitting the Inspector told the court that the system had been accessed at the appropriate time.

My friend tells me that some cases are locked on the system and can only be accessed by authorised Gardai-those who have an interest in the case.
