...the Crown Office said the decision was based on the player's behaviour, rather than a single act.
[A church spokesman said] other actions could not be defended, but that a gesture of religious significance should not be considered offensive.

God forbid Scotland ever reaches the World Cup, and is up against some South American side. I remember a few years ago Gazza mimicking an Orangeman playing a flute during an Old firm game. It was during the marching season and was deliberately provocative.
But to call the sign of the Cross a breach of the peace is just surreal. Far from stamping out sectarianism in Scottish football, this will just deteriate relations.

[/quote:37kykgvn] We aren't told what there "other actions" are. Regardless anyway, as the police included the religious sign "as part of" the breach of the peace. Explain

The sign of the cross is a symbol of oppression in most countries artound the world. With the backing of the Christian Church the first empires began the ethnic cleansing of pagan and other cultures around the world, specifically in the Americas and Africa. Like the Swastika it is a symbol of hatred and intolerance.
    Revolution not devolution.

as pointed out on the other thread there was some build-up ....

But where does it stop ?

Sprinkling Holy water over the ball before the Kick is to be taken ?

A Goalie wants to kneel and read his bible before every kick ?

A Muslim Goalie wants to pray to Mecca before every Kick ?

Apart from your good self, who else equates the cross with the Swastika?
I don't see many "Communists" sacrificing their entire lives to poor communities in South America or running orphanages in Africa?

………….or maybe people can mind their own business and not act like little wimps when someone makes a small gesture in order to seek help from divine powers at a troubling moment.
