    Courageous Gary Goes Down

Does anyone agree with me that Gary Campion of Limerick got a raw deal in Court yesterday ?
I mean the guy killed a bloke OK but 'twas in the heat of a dispute when it happened. 'Twould never have otherwise. Gary's not all bad. He didn't get enough love as he grew up. Just thinks now that the world owes him a living. He hears about bankers making off with millions and the state does convulsions as it deals with them and every time he tried to get a few bob sorted he gets clobbered for it.

    I jest, of course.

I mean he has a good set of personal values. I mean he got all dolled up for the court hearing......sure he was like a male model with all dat black an white but the Beak wasn't none too observant and gave him no marks for that.
I suppose he feels double the pain cos he's serving two life sentences at the one time so he don't get sleep some nights. An most most important of all he didn't show the white feather as he was being taken away. I mean just like the cannabis head Gillo who done the Jeering bird (or got her done) he managed to smile and laff so the the blokes (there are no guys in Limerick) know he's really hard. His place in the pantheon of Great Stab City Scumbags is, no doubt, assured.
Limerick is cursed with a legacy like that.

Witness changed his mind on the stand, the judge allowed the use of the video recording of the witnesses interview with the Guards at which point he witness claimed he lied to the cops.

It was a 10 to 2 majority verdict (minimum allowed) and by all accounts very very close to not even getting that.

The scum bag got very close to getting off.

This notorious ganster was tried and convicted by judge and jury, and has been sentenced to life. What bit of that does Dermot Ahern gave a problem with?

Er why cant a witness change their minds? Its not like the guards dont coerce the odd one (Donegal anyone?).

Where will Campion serve this sentence?
Any chance that he could be thrown into a cell share in Wheatfield with another notorious Limerick detainee?

When there is a known history of intimidation of witnesses and juries and even a history of murdering witnesses and their families in retaliation it is hard to blame a witness for changing his mind or Juries for finding scumbags innocent for that matter.
