This has to be the best one ever.

Man drinks five pints, and slips on the wet porch tiles of his own (rented) house. Judge Anthony Barr says the tiles rendered the house "unfit for human habitation" and awards him 100 K.

No contributory negligence - no need for man to put a mat on his own porch

This judge should be impeached. He's making a mockery of us.
Ah but it wasn't " his own porch ", it was the councils porch.

Compensation culture is out of control, some people setting unwitting victims up by stopping suddenly and getting them to tip their car, then the next thing you know the scammer is rubbing the back of their neck claiming ''whiplash'' which is very hard to prove and disprove....

I slipped on a wet patio that the previous owners had put in using glazed tiles. I gave my head a serious thwack -- which could explain a lot, says you. I was livid.

I had a pickaxe, a crowbar and a few hundred left over from furnishing the house. I set to work on it as soon as the concussion was more or less gone.

Glazed tiles outdoors are a seriously stupid thing to have. Even in dry climates. In Ireland they're positively mad.

    Just sayin.

    Good to see.

Lots of publicity on fraudsters is needed.

Remember, every increased premium and many small businesses closures are driven by these scam artists....
