To put it crudely, he'd be far better off (about twenty five times better off) being libelled!

"Referring to the settlement, which was made under the Civil Liability Act for pain and suffering and loss of dependency, Mr Justice Quirke said it was a token figure because the State sets the sum in such cases."

Kind of leaves you speechless when you consider libel award figures over the years.

In 2000 the Women's Institute in Britain gave Tony Blair the slow hand clap to demonstrate their contempt.
It was dignified, restrained and effective.Doesn't Bertie deserve the same scorn. No shouting, no abuse, no agression just a relentless slow clap whenever he speaks in public would be enough to end that man's presidential fantasy.

It's a sad fact of life that unless a son/daughter was the main financial support or carer of a parent, their life for compensation purposes is less valued than a spouse or parent, children's lives being valued rather crudely by an estimation of amount invested in them by their parents.
