    Martina Devlin on Frank Dunlop

Crooked Dunlop more honest than 'banksters' - Martina Devlin, Columnists - Independent.ie

Martina Devlin is looking for some cheap publicity today for her new book "Banksters" by comparing Frank in a favourable light to the bankers.

What Frank has admitted so far is giving approx 10k to 5/6 councillors and this is what he awaits sentencing for.

He has not admitted to receiving funds from OOC to bribe senior politicians in FF amongst them 2 former Taoiseach.

If the Court accept Frank's illness claims now, in the future when more serious charges are brought how can he be sent down, he will continue to claim a dodgy ticker.

Frank's motives are designed to keep him out of prison and all evidence given has that goal in mind as well as protecting the big boys, his evidence to date has been given to a Tribunal not a Court of Law where more serious charges should be brought, it will only be then will we know how much truth he is telling.

OOC not only used Frank as a conduit to pass monies around freely to get what he wanted with the help of AIB, he himself was giving monies to FF politicians/party as often as they asked for it.

Frank has not repented he will be busying himself away with his new law degree on his next version of Dunlop's truth, ashen-faced he might very well be but he knew what he was doing all along, greed and personal esteem/power were the motives.

If he doesn't do a decent stretch of time (and I don't think he will, citing health problems) it will set a precedent for similar charges in the future, and it won't act as a sufficient deterrent for further corruption and bribery.

We seem to be condoning any behaviour in the old boys club. Short of serious child abuse I think they'd get off with or wriggle out of any serious charges against them.

It's about time this country led by example and applied the law to all professions and sectors of society, including the political class, bankers and other white collar criminals.
We all love animals. Why do we call some 'pets' and others 'dinner'?

Given how lightly the institutions of both Church & State are getting off (in prosecution terms at least) after yesterday's abuse report, I suspect you might be wrong there!

Do you mean you believe the Courts will come down heavy on Frank Dunlop and his kind ?

Why should a dodgy ticker be a reason for this man to stay out of prison? The joy is very close to the mater hospital?

By comparison, Frank Dunlop has repented. Not just spiritually -- which you can see on his face; he has suffered -- but in a concrete way, by cooperating with the Criminal Assets Bureau and other bodies. He is also willing to turn State's evidence.
The very definition of a hack who doesn't know what the hell she's talking about. Another useful idiot suckered by the still-lying creep.
