Someone posted dermot@dermotahern.ie, which might be Dermot Ahern's official email on 4chan. I wonder if he gets some mail.
If Rabbitte's wording was changed to remove the word 'merit' and replace it with the word 'purpose' and he added political and religious purposes to the categories exempted, then effectively all utterances and publications would be exempted!
Instead of excluding any matter that had 'any literary, artistic, social or academic merit', it would exclude any matter that had 'any literary, artistic, social, religious or political purpose'.

I rang his office the morning to ask to speak to someone about this legislation and his receptionist sounded very strained. I'd say this unleashed an avalanche of complaints. I know some of the posters on richarddawkins.net have emailed him as well.
Someone is meant to "get back to me". Same response from Labour HQ. Whats Fine Gael's attitude I wonder?

Australia too. We are officially a laughing stock in all civilised corners of the world. Well done Dermot Ahern!
