Why didn't she go to another African country, a Christian one, where the practice of FGM would not have spread to. The money the family wasted on flights would have set them up nicely. The family have the resources, they went on holiday to the UK for feck sake, These are not poor people, they are the Nigerian elite. If we cannot get costs off her, she should be jailed and her children sent back to the father. There is no threat to the children, never was, never will be.

No it appears her legal case has fallen apart and she is being abandoned by her legal team Not much to help her now.

We all know and underestand clearly at this stage where you stand on this matter, no need to further elaborate.
talk about going round in circles. there are some posters on here usually on the foreign affairs (islam,israel, refugees)topics or hobby horses who would argue their point(usually the same 2 or 3 tired points) until armageddon. I'm surprised at the tolerance shown by most people for them. I've been dragged into the odd game of tennis myself but have come to the conclusion that it is impossible to have a meaningful discussion with a fundamentalist or an extremist. all that you get is a repetitive strain injury and hair loss.

Just to clarify this. The Court do not decide to deport somebody, that power is vested in the Minister. Nor do the Courts decide not deport a person, that power is also vested in the Minister.
A person may seek to have the decision of the Minister Judicially Reviewed. If this happens it is the manner in which the decison has been arrived at, not the decision itself that is looked at by the Court.
In this case, the applicant has sought to have ainisterial decision reviewed by the courts. This has been done. She lost her case in both the High and Supreme Court, and has now sought to create further delay by taking Judicial Review cases against her Subsidary Protection application. The Supreme Court hearing in this regard is on Friday, and she will most likely lose, given recent developments. She has no legal basis to be in this country and should be deported.
Further, she has weakened the case of any future asylum seeker claiming FGM as a reason for flleing their home country. Asylum seekers who create bogus stories make it moredifficult for those genuinely fleeing persecution to gain acceptance.
Even if her claims are true, they fall outside the scope for refugee status. The persecution must be at the hands of a state actor, she does not even claim this to be the case.
