As I understand it, the state pays for their accommodation directly-this ensures that the government cronies get their money and that it doesn't go to the off licence- the €19 euro is spending money.

The €19 per week argument is grossly misleading since it doesn't include direct-provision vouchers which pay for asylum-seekers' basic needs such as food. Yet it remains one of the greatest urban-myths of the asylum-industry with respect to their media strategy.

The accommodation is paid for, but the landlord receives the money directly.

The end result of their policies will be the deaths of many many people, so I am putting punishment for these peoples crimes at that same level. In a normal society we might expect people to at least try to the right thing, but now we have a generation of people who have grown up to think only about themselves, these people have to understand that for the decisions they make, they can and will be held accountable for.

I would say Rosanna et al would be banging a different type of drum.

In Fluffy's case though, that simpleton I think does live in one of those "culturally enriched" areas and is just happy to have someone to talk to after his boyfriend left him with the its not you its me line.
Ah to be loved Camper alas should you meet Mrs Right lets hope she is blind and deaf then you may stand a chance!

Had a look over the figures of people who were housing needs in Ireland from the 2008 who were housing needs in the Fingal Co Co report. The amount of non EU who were housing needs was 12% however the report doesnt state if they were treated as special cases as seems to be the thorn in the foot here. To become a housing need criteria has to be met in order to get a house, if they fulfill this criteria they are fulfilling the same obligations as Irish nationals so its a full playing field.

And Camp, raising the ire of the users through the use of the word "darkies" just makes you below contempt. The fact you feel the need to refer to a personal situation just shows how much I am capable of getting to you, I quite like it ....if I grind your gears I'll quite happily let you continue on.......

What's the urban myth here? Asylum seekers do get just €19/week for discretionary spending.

The urban myths that I encounter most regularly are that asylum seekers get free styling sessions in Peter Mark's, free cars, free taxis anywhere in Ireland, etc.
