Oh you mean people who make a bee line for Ireland and avoid all other areas of safe refuge closer to their starting point? Or do you mean people with literally nowhere else to go?

In the latter case I suppose some means to tell them apart from bogus asylum seekers is needed, something more efficient than what exists now. Perhaps it would be an idea to put such a system in place before dealing with them, and order a retrospective review on all claims of asylum granted under the current shambles. It might also be an idea to gain a commitment from these genuine asylum seekers that they return when whatever situation supposedly drove them here is judged past. It would also be an idea to present a bill to the government of wherever they came from for all the costs incurred.

Apart from the highlighted word your post is spot on. No suppose about it. There has to be such a system in place to allow genuine asylum seekers to get the help they need.
