The Supreme Court counsidered the documents and have heard submissions on the matter from the States Counsel. They have accepted them as evidence. It is for Pamela's lawyers or herself to provide evidence at the next sitting to substantiate her claim.

One presumes the court received sworn affidavits from the Gardai and Diplomats who investigated the matter in Nigeria as well as from the "real" Doctor.

It would appear from the news reports that Hugh Mohan, counsel for the State, was not sparing any blushes and was emphasising the seriousness of basing this whole claim on forged documents. I would think that the Supreme Court, in the absence of a really good excuse, would also hold that view and Pamela or her husband might well find themselves held and/or tried for criminal contempt.

It's a bit of a stretch to believe that Boucher-Hayes set out to mislead the Court. Afaik, he did not rely on any leads that could be manipulated but did his own investigation. Saying that the garda investigation was 'satisfied' does not instill confidence. What does that mean? We need the full facts. There is a huge question here which has not been answered.

Imho, Judge John Murray should not have granted this woman's application for yet another delay.

Surely it's better that she is given time to respond to the new evidence than that she is given grounds to lodge another appeal, dragging out the case even further, because she wasn't given a fair opportunity to respond to the State's evidence or to produce evidence to prove that she has been telling the truth.

I'd have to agree, we can't provide her with any more opportunities for delay her inevitable deportation. The State has put it up to her, she has no hope of winning.....why do you think her legal team quit?

A question I have is did this child ever exist? She has not provided any proof that it did (Birth Cert). She did provide a Death Cert which was found to be a forgery. If the child never existed, as the doctor claimed, does that not make her a liar as well?

Will an Irish court accept affidavits from Nigeria? Will the Irish state investigate the bona fides of these affidavits to the same extent as it investigated PI's documents? Can it square the testimony of Boucher-Hayes with the currrent testimony of the doctor, along with the evidence of the staff who say the doctor was 'visited' by the Nigerian army?
