these people think that they represent public opinion on this matter, they also thought that during the citizenship referendum.....the yes side won with 79.17% of the vote.
Pamela will be going home, I'm sure you guys can find something else to protest about.
[quote=selfemployedmar;1536942]Obviously Friday's decision is coming fast. No matter how you want to dress it up, she lied and cheated.
She has tried to circumvent the Irish legal system and the ECHR, she has made fools out of those that supported her and you continue to be blinkered to these facts.
Can't you see that you are backing a publicly exposed liar? What world do you (and Hopi) really live in?
Do you really really think, this particular case aside, that Ireland can open it's doors to anyone claiming they are in fear of fgm? Do you think we can afford to take in potential millions who turn up at our shores and give them housing, allowances etc for potentially the rest of their lives, based on this pretense? jesus wept...
Of course they can, here and elsewhere and perhaps they should, but that does not impinge on the case we are discussing. This family is here and we have an opportuntiy to ensure their safety and send a signal that FGM is evil and must be stopped and we should become proactive internationally to achieve that.
Ireland could never accommodate the numbers involved and would clearly have to take action if we became exposed to 'mass' migration but that is another day's work. To send these children, who are here, back to face this danger would be wrong. It may cause us some problems , but we should confront those rather than scurry into touch.
No one is saying we have to let them all in. Personally in this specific case Izevbekhai and her kids should be allowed to stay as an exceptional case because of the publicity it has garnered internationally may put her and her children in danger. Other than that FGM on its own shouldn't be grounds for entry.
