I guess patience is a virtue and we should be charitable so we will try again.

The issue here is not concerned with how they function or where they fall down in their functions. That is for another forum.

They are marching, as many other professions have, in order to mantain their pay and their pensions as those who creamed it off are not being brought to task.

If there was no scandal and everybody was being treated as equal there would not be a problem.

I have been critical in other threads of the functioning of the Gardai but here I respect them and acknowledge their right to march.

Candi, It would suit you better you did some work along with Conor in St Vincent de Paul and see the hardship first hand among families, instead abour worrying on the guards right to march, my point is they do have an income, however you are not listening, women are arriving at St Vincent de Paul crying that they cannot even pay their bills. Get off the soap box and do shut up, the real picture is that there is dreadful hardship out there and marching over a small tax on a pension levy is just downright digusting and disgraceful. PS are hijacking the media constantly. It is getting worse. Better still you PS do some phone work for the Samaritans and take off the rose tinted glasses. It is going to get much worse

You are quite correct, it is a disgrace that our gardai are attacked in that manner while doing their duty.

Think of the distress assaults like that have on the Garda and the Garda's family

They should take to the streets alright!!!! Do a bit of work for a change.
These are very racist remarks

Yes they prosecute the wrongdoers and let the good citizens alone

Yes because all the trouble makers congregate in the chippers when they are full of Vodka and red bull and other concoctions

Oh yes they are, have a look at their bill board photos. Some treatment.

Once again I will reiterate this is not about griping about the good or better fortune of one worker over another, it is about uniting for a common cause.

Here's a little gift for the GRÁ (love) marchers. From the content of some of the posts, it's clear that a few of them are members here (or their grás).

Feel free to download the poster and print it for your placards.

P.S: No need to thank me, it's the least I could do for the kind, gentle luvvies.
Who would want green "one of the mob" ratings? Red and proud!

Unicorn I think you made a wrong assessment. Good job you are not a Garda. The force would be the worse off if you were.
AGAIN AT THE RISK OF REPEATING MYSELF THIS IS NOT ABOUT GARDAI.
IT IS NOT ABOUT GARDAI HAVE A GOOD JOB AND IT IS NOT ABOUT
GARDA ACTIONS IN THE RECLAIN THE STREETS.

As it is not about the Army marching and the good job they have.

It is about every one coming together and uniting in a single cause and that is to protect our pay and our pensions and our refusal to allow ourselves to be punished for the sins of the Government and their bankers and financiers within the circle.
They caused the problems let them pay the cost.

I think it's fair to say that the Garda bill-board campaign has back-fired. Big time.
