    Child Sex Abuse Scandal. Again.

Yes indeed, with dreary regularity the Catholic Church (this time the diocese of Cloyne) has found itself embroiled in a child sex abuse scandal.

On a positive note, the independent body set up by the church has done its job effectively.

Once again ..... profiles in courage.

What is wrong with these guys. They want to lead communities, but they cannot lead their own people, most of whom have taken an oath of loyalty.

    Loathsome
    The Illuminati ...... because payback's a Bit

The Bishop involved, John McGee, is a very interesting character. He was the english secretary to Pope Paul VI, and again to Pope John Paul I, who reigned for 33 days and, in the vatican cover up over who found his dead body, McGee was identified as the finder. In fact, as subsequently admitted, Luciani's (Pope John Paul I) long time housekeeper, Sister Vincienza, actually found him but the Vatican did not want anyone knowing he had a woman in his bedroom. In fact she had brought him morning coffee in his room for donkeys years. McGee continued with Pope John II as english secretary for some years and eventually was appointed Master of Pontifical Ceremonies. The story goes that he eventually drove the Pope bonkers with his "ten types of bows" and general anal attitude to all things liturgical, to which the last Pope had a rather more relaxed attitude. In light of the forgoing he was offered (fecked out of the Vatican) at the first oppertunity a bishopric become available in Ireland. Thus he is in the unusual position of being a Northerner as Bishop of a Southern Diocese, which is not the norm.

Anyway, thats my contribution to everyones useless information for the day!!

Useless? No information is truly useless...
For instance, that has shown many people who are ignorant of what a stuck up gob********************e the man is. If the Pope isn't big on ceremony, who the hell is he to disagree?

In the RTE News interview, Bishop Magee excuses himself on the grounds that he is "in a learning mode". He appears to be an extremely slow learner!

Of course, he should be sacked immediately by his ecclesiastical superiors.

In addition, he may be open to charges of criminal conspiracy to cover up abuse allegations. Evidence is contained in the Report of the Church's own National Board for Safeguarding Children. According to RTE:

The Church watchdog revealed minutes of a meeting from 2006, signed by the Bishop, which showed the cleric completely at odds with official regulations.

The minutes had been produced by the Bishop himself.

According to the report on the Diocese of Cloyne, Bishop Magee said gardaí would never be given names of alleged child abusers in the church ranks.

'The failure to name the alleged perpetrator to the gardaí was not exceptional,' the report stated.

I wouldn't blame tha Catholic Church for the fact that so many priests were Child Abusers as it's well established that predators manipulate themselves into positions where they can access children but that excuse might have given them some leeway decades ago when these things were not spoken of but there is no valid reason for anything short of trial and punishment now. If the body set up is going about things in the right way now then it is long overdue.
