    You did well to leave. She was a bully. Bullying is not the strong abusing the weak; it is abuse and violence directed towards someone who cannot, or will not, defend themselves. A bully will select his/her victims with this consideration in mind.

    Bullies are cowards.

    I am sorry to hear of your experience.

    I am far from an expert on domestic violence but I recall reading accounts of violence by women on men including implements (which can certainly hurt if not worse if one is hit with them), things being thrown (which can also be dangerous), hot/boiling water being used, knives, being attacked when asleep, guns (not so much in Ireland), etc.
    Or threats of them being used (which can count as abuse the "other way around").
    Also not all men are in the full of their health.
