How do you defined a contract and agreements ?

Well i believed it's an understanding between two parties or more e.g employment contract, marriage contract signed between a man and a woman and other forms of contract we may think of and it must be signed and abide with maybe there is common law contract which we are not aware of anyway, any take on that aspect in the memorandum of understanding ?

    What are you on about?

As for the definition of a contract, I cant remember the textbook definition but it something along the lines of this:

An agreement between two or more parties for a common goal for which considerastion is offered in return for something else.

That's quite a bit away from the text book answer but I know there must be an offer and acceptance and consideration for it to be a valid contract.

A memo of understanding is similar to a contract but the difference is quite technical in legal terms. I think in general terms it merely sets out the terms of an agreement in looser terms than a formal contract. I've generally seen memos of understanding to document a long standing relationship that was not set out in a formal contract, a way of back dating a contract I suppose.

Others here I'm sure will give you a more concise explanation.

    Now, what's your point?

Contract or an agreement can not be defined in such a manner given the fact that it has been entered into i.e signed in accordance with the law or biding rules so what's the cry for or you have your own common law definitions plastic paddy ?
