Last month witnessed the spectacle of Gary Glitter being chased away from country after country following his release from serving a sentence for sexual offences against underage girls.
Now a leading Irish newspaper reports that "A leading writer faces jail next month unless he seeks help and accepts that sexually assaulting a 15-year-old boy was wrong".
The court also heard garda evidence that Hogan had also been seen in a playground, showing children sketches of people in various stages of undress.
The question that comes to my mind is why there is any suggestion of anything other than a lenghty prison sentence?
