Family Re-unification- Family left in Limbo For Three Years!

An ethiopian family left in limbo in refugee camp following an high court ruling that paved the way for those said family to re-unite for the past three year, the department of justice has problem of mal-administration and power corrupt in the operation of their jobs sometime they base their work on country they like and the ones they dont like for speed ups, when is the minister for justice dermot ahern TD going to rectify those errors in his department because a lot of immigrant that are even in the country are in similar situations, and we need to ask him is it power corrupt or mal-adminstration ?

Dermot ahern we have seen family waiting for over one year now for their last three year of IBC 05 when both couple applied at the same time last year june and the wife applications got taken out and aproved and that immigrant is now talk of the town in new ross could the minister tell us what they want and their racist people in new ross county wexford, dermot we need an answer before our tax take it further to the high court or you want to tell us that just because they will be irish citizen by 2010 ?

I bet you'd still be laughing if it was you stuck in that hell hole for three years for no good reason.

This is an appalling case. Heads should roll in the Department over this, but as we all know, they won't. We really need, now in recession times more than ever, to implement a system for firing the incompetents in the civil service. At least one such well-paid, pensioned-up, unsackable buffoon has just cost this family years of living hell.

Do you somehow know this from the original post or are you aware of the details from elsewhere?
It was well covered in the media today. I understand that the Minister has ordered an internal inquiry into the matter.

The EU passed a directive on Family Reunification which sets out minimum criteria that all countries in Europe must adhere to in deciding family reunification issues. Ireland has not signed up to it.

That doesn't apply in this case anyway. The facts are that the family were issued visas in August 2005, but someone in the Department failed to issue them until three years had passed. To compound this error/malicious act, someone in the Department repeatedly refused to give the woman any information about her file until it was received, on appeal, under freedom of information. And then they still didn't issue the visas, even after the woman knew they had been issued years earlier, until she went to the High Court to force their issuance.
The questions that arise here are highly concerning, and appear to point towards a single or multiple civil servants deliberately blocking the issuing of asylum visas to people, including children, living in a refugee camp in Ethiopia, for a period of years, and taking all possible steps to prevent anyone finding out that they had done so.
I do not wish to prejudice whatever internal inquiry will now ensue, but it appears to me somewhat difficult to come up with a plausible explanation for how the visas could repeatedly fail to be issued in the context of so many requests for the Department to do so, that doesn't involve conscious and deliberate action on the part of one or more civil servants.

Head must roll for real in that department of justice to be honest because it does seems to me that they operate their own system differently from the stipulated law or directives and turn immigrant ducumentations into a laughing stock like toys.

Dermot ahern should also answer the man in new ross county wexford that was isued residency permit by virtue of irish/european citizen residency 2005 for, and they both submitted it last june 2007 the woman was granted the last three year with ibc status establsihed already, the man is still waiting but the luck the man has is that he's a law student he does'nt need a solicitor and beside that he owns an investigation and security business in the state if dermot ahern did not probe the corruptions in that sector aswell a case maybe instituted and damages may be demanded aswell can anyone tell us why the delay in the man last three year to citizenship ? :P
