Judges get appointed by the government, they typically have made a LOT of money as barristers before then - much from government waste and largess, their kids are typically also in the profession, making their way up the greasy pole.

The question being asked us if it was all just a series of unconnected, unfortunate mistakes them how come not one mistake was in McCabe's favour.

Strange the way certain alleged rape/sexual assault victims are feted around An Dáil yet victims of a FF activist can't get straight answers about the lack of support they got when reporting the abuse years ago, then there's Mary Boyle.

If there's political capitol to be made from you can be sure it will be on the other hand if you can damage them then they'll ignore you.

https://twitter.com/broadsheet_ie/st...osurestribunal Earlier, Michael Cush SC, for HSE, said - in respect of RIAN counsellor involved in original cut and paste error which led to rape allegation - it's for judge to assess if this was "simply an error or an error with motive"

#disclosurestribunal O'Higgins says the input of gardai and senior officers was "at all times not motivated by malice or animus" but but a "desire to ensure" any issue concerning McCabe was dealt with in professional manner.

I'd hate to see when they deal with something in an unprofessional manner.

Like minding phones, counting murder stats, breathalysers etc etc

#disclosurestribunal McDowell says when error did come to light Brophy had to complete incident report. McD says this "is in stark contrast to what happened in Tusla". McD says NONE of Tusla staff was asked to complete a written explanation for what happened on their watch

#disclosurestribunal McDowell says it's "not just an observation, judge. I'm going to ask the tribunal to ask itself: why did that not take place? Why did nobody in Tusla inquire of the people involved in the generation of the notification document that went in April 30 2014?.."

#disclosurestribunal McD continues "..why were none of them, at the time, asked for an explanation as to what they had done?" McD says this isn't simply a query for its own sake but he is asking the tribunal to draw some inferences from it.

#disclosurestribunal McDowell says he's asking tribunal not to simply say things were chaotic and this was an error as innocent as being made out. McD says tribunal should not be merely sceptical of some evidence but should reject some of it as untrue.
