Mahon: No 'dig out' took place

Lawyers for the Mahon Tribunal today said openly for the first time they suspected there was no 'dig out' for Mr. Ahern. The investigators on a State inquiry are openly suggesting a mass conspiracy to pervert the course of justice on the part of a serving Taoiseach and his acolytes.

Why the hell is this not being shouted from the rooftops by the media and the opposition?

Yes, Murphy bowled the googly right at the end of CC's evidence asking him if the whole loan episode had actually taken place and it was as if CC had been waiting for it all day, his reply was sharp, curt, prepared and precise "That is totally incorrect".
It is a bit like a lull in the storm at the moment as it builds towards Bert's upcoming panto appearance, will he be one of those turkeys who get to see January, I think so but defo not the next one.

A Tribunal wouldn't go on a fishing expedition in regard to a serving Taoiseach. They wouldn't be putting it to Charlie Chawke that his tale about helping to fund a dig out is porkies, if they didn't have hard evidence that what Ahern got was Dollars. Cat and mouse and they'll catch him in the end. If the cash came from O'Callaghan via Dunlop and Reynolds was involved, Fianna Fail may as well just shut up shop - unless they can persuade Harney to return and lead them. It would be that seismic...

I doubt it - Fianna Fáil have an astonishing, indeed somewhat disappointing, ability to bounce back from such fiascos. That is most likely why one fiasco leads to another.

To me it is incredible. A serving Taoiseach is accused in so many words of perjury, conspiracy to pervert the course of justice, and, by implication, receiving corrupt payments, by an Oireachtas Inquiry that he set up.

And hardly a word said in response.

    Speaks volumes for Ireland.

Simply because the vast majority of people believe he is guilty of all those things.
